Since recruitment commenced in May 2026, the Quit Now Project has collaborated with different construction companies to conduct a series of outreach activities at construction sites, bringing smoking cessation support directly to frontline workers.
During the outreach activities, workers were offered on-site health checks, including blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation and carbon monoxide (CO) level assessments. Nurses also provided immediate, personalised explanations of the results, helping workers better understand their current health status and the potential impact of smoking on their health.
Through face-to-face engagement, health assessment and professional advice, the project aims to raise workers’ awareness of smoking-related health risks, strengthen their motivation to quit, and connect them with appropriate smoking cessation support. By working closely with construction companies, the Quit Now Project seeks to make smoking cessation services more accessible and relevant to workers in their everyday workplace setting.
